first on the PC you would like to access

Remote Desktop service allows one to access a computer from anywhere in the world as if one was directly in front of the keyboard and the mouse.
One may need to access another computer from another location in multiple instances, such as troubleshooting issues, accessing files, and much more.

Here’s how to access a Windows 10 computer remotely over the internet

How to Access a Windows 10 Computer Remotely Windows 10 has a few inbuilt services and applications which could be used for accessing a Windows 10 computer remotely.
Here is the list of methods we will be following to accomplish the task.
Remote Desktop Connection Quick Assist AnyDesk TeamViewer  There are a few key differences between the list of methods mentioned below.

While some of the ways may allow you to copy/transfer files from one PC to another

some methods do not so choose based on the usage case.
1] Remote Desktop Connection Remote Desktop from Windows is one of the easiest ways to access a Windows 10 PC remotely.

It comes disabled by default and is only available in Windows 10 Pro and above editions

To access it from another location, first on the PC you would like to access, one needs to enable Remote Desktop from the settings, here’s how:   Open the Settings menu and navigate to the System Page.
Scroll down, find and select the Remote Desktop Menu from the left navigation pane.
Here you’ll find a toggle to enable Remote Desktop, switch it on, and confirm the service required.
With this.

Your PC is now fully ready to get accessed by a Remote Desktop Client

also do note the name of the PC mentioned below.

On the PC from which you want to access the other computer

make sure you have downloaded a Remote Desktop Client.
We would recommend using Microsoft’s official Remote Desktop Client, which could be downloaded from the Microsoft Store.
Launch Microsoft Remote Desktop, select the Add button available at the top right corner.

Enter the PC’s IP address of which you would like to access remotely

The PC’s IP address could be found by passing an argument “ipconfig” in the command prompt and then click continue.

Here you’ll be asked to enter the host PC’s Microsoft account credentials

which have been used for logging in.
Enter the details and click on Connect.

Now you’ll be connected to the host PC in a couple of minutes

2] Quick Assist  Quick Assist comes in handy when one would like another person to assist or get assisted.
If there is any issue you are facing or you’d like to assist someone, this could be the tool to rely upon.
There are two different connections here; one is the host PC and the other who would be providing the Assistance.
To get assistance, you’ll need the other person at the other end to generate a 6-digit code from the quick assist application and then pass it over to you, here’s how:  In the Start Search Box type in Quick Assist and select the main listed result.

On the homepage of the Quick Assist application

you’ll find two options: Get Assistance and Give Assistance.
Click on the Give Assistance button and login with the Microsoft account credentials.
Now the application will display a 6-digit code that needs to be passed upon.
At the other end, similarly, they will now need to enter the six-digit code received and allowed access to permissions, here’s how:  In the Start Search Box type in Quick Assist and select the main listed result.
On the homepage of the Quick Assist application, you’ll find two options: Get Assistance and Give Assistance.
Here, under the Get assistance menu, you’ll find a textbox to enter the 6-digit code.
Enter the code here and allow access to permissions.
With this, Windows will now ask you whether you want the other person to view the screen on this PC or you’d like him/her to have complete access to the machine.
Select the latter option, and you’d be good to go.
3] AnyDesk  AnyDesk is a third party application distributed by AnyDesk Software GmbH and provides platform-independent remote access to computers and other devices connected to the host application.
It works similarly to the Windows Remote Desktop while offering additional functionality such as remote control, file transfer, and VPN service, and more.

It supports cross-platform access through which one could control their Windows

Mac, Android, and more across each other.  Download AnyDesk 4] TeamViewer  Similar to AnyDesk, Teamviewer is also a third party application for Windows, which could be used for accessing machines through a remote location.
Teamviewer is an old player in this industry and has features for remote control, desktop sharing, online meetings, web conferencing and file transfer between computers.
Teamviewer also features all the standard goodies one would expect from an online meeting software: text chatting, a whiteboard functionality, a recording tool, and more.
